Black Moon Cosmetics sues Manny MUA and Jeffree Star for trademark infringement
Today, The McArthur Law Firm filed a lawsuit for trademark and copyright infringement on behalf of Black Moon Cosmetics in federal court against beauty vloggers Manny MUA and Jeffree Star Cosmetics. The complaint alleges infringement of Black Moon Cosmetics’ trademarks and copyrights in their distinctive product logo, shown on the right, with the Defendants new logo on competitive cosmetics products, shown on the left.
As outlined in the complaint, Manny MUA and Jeffree Star’s social media announcements advertising their infringing product is full of consumer comments pointing out the similarity between the two logos and demonstrating the resulting consumer confusion. Black Moon Cosmetics is seeking an injunction to stop the sale of the infringing products as well as damages including MUA and JSC’s revenue and Black Moon’s attorneys’ fees.
